• Hello and welcome! How are we supposed to reach financial freedom when we don’t know where our money is going? I have always been told budgeting is an important part of personal finance, but I could never find the right system for me whether it be pen and paper, Excel spreadsheets, or apps. It seemed as if each method was missing something, so I decided to build a budget template. I hope it is as helpful for you as it has been for me!

• There are different levels of budgeting. Many people live in the beginner stage, where all of their money is going to “needs” and “wants” with no money being “saved or invested.” This is not ideal. The goal is to work towards the advanced stage or even further, where less of our income is going towards “needs” and “wants” and instead the majority of funds are being “saved and invested” for our future.
